Another AC thread 😬
« on: June 23, 2020, 05:10:35 pm »
Hi guys, I know everyone is probably sick of these threads so I’ll keep it short and sweet. Hopefully someone else has had the same issue before.

Compressor was knackered, had it replaced. AC worked for 3 days then just went back to warm air.

Took it back to the garage, they couldn’t find a leak. Said it held the pressure on the test. They put some sealant in the system and re-gassed it. 3 days later and it’s warm again.

Does anyone have any idea how it’s holding pressure on the leak test but the gas still seems to be escaping? Please help 😂😂

Next time you get it topped up get some UV dye added, it makes finding leaks easier. When they test for a leak they pull a vacuum on the system and see if it holds for 30 mins or so, it can be the case that although it holds a vacuum it can still leak when under pressure when in use, and this if often at the seals.
