5W40 (502.00) and 5W30 (507.00) are both specified by VW for use in the TFSI.
502 for fixed 10K servicing and 507 for variable 20K servicing. 507 has a lot more anti-sludging, anti-thickening and anti-wear additives than 502, simply because it's in the engine for twice as long as 502. Well, that's the theory at least but we all know TFSIs don't get 20K from a sump of oil! 1litre per 4000 miles consumption is considered good for a TFSI!
So in other words, there is no need for enthusiasts to use 507 because we change it out frequently, therefore a much cheaper 502 is plenty good enough. I use Mobil 1 0W40 at the moment, which seems to have a great performance / cost ratio and the engine seems to like it too!
