I've got a Halfords one.  Not had any problems with it except the bottom straps coming off because I didn't tighten them enough :ashamed:  I don't really like bikes on the back though unless I'm going somewhere local-ish, so have a bike bag to put the bikes inside the car for when we go further afield.

Golf Girl (or anyone else with a rear mount carrier I guess) where do secure the chassis hooks to?  Only place I can find is the bottom of the bumper?

Secondly I assume you need the dumbells for both the top and side fixings for the golf?

Just bought the halfords rack and these questions have come from a trial fitting ...

The dumbells hook through the top of the tailgate, there's two hooks that clip onto the side of the tailgate (it looks like they hook over the edge of the glass but they don't) and two that hook under the bottom of the rear valance.

Thanks for that, I got some extra dumbells for the side as well; the less chance of paint damage the better!  Yeah the only place I could find for the chassis hooks was the bottom of the valance - I was worried that its not a metal part so not strong enough but I guess its not an issue?

If you hook them near the corners you'll find that they actually hook onto metal.  I had the same dilemma so had a fumble around  :happy2:
