Brakes on ebay..?

Hey guys, looking for a big brake set up just watching a few options at the mo as really want ttrs or rs4 set up but the Nqsbbk would also suffice for track purposes. I've come across this set up on eBay I've text the lad a few questions but a little skeptical about the answers, as it says they came off his 07 plate Leon fr which would state they would fit the mk5 golf however if you read the description it says mk4 golf, so I asked him and he is positive the brakes are off his fr 07 model but when I asked for part number and discs sizes they relate cross referencing to the mk1 Leon cupra r brakes. Can any gurus shed any light on these by the naked eye? He also states there are no engraved/stamped part numbers in the calipers and when I asked about pads he says I need to order mk1 cupra r pads to fit. Just a little strange if anyone has any ideas please help.

Theyre the 4pots from a MK1 cupra r which is the 5x100 setup. A 2007 Leon would have the 345mm s3/r32 setup ( I'm 99% sure) I'm guessing they're the 323mm discs when you checked?

These are a common upgrade for the previous generation of Golf/ S3 A3 etc to ours.

These will definitely not fit yours

Yeah those are he sizes buddy so I'm guessing his mk2 Leon fr 2007 model isn't a mk2 Leon, didn't think they made the cupra r mk1 in 07??

Well yeh I'm pretty sure 54/05 is the latest plate MK1 cupra you can get. I've looked at plenty of those brakes since friends have done them and l nearly Bought a set for my old car. I would steer clear mate because he's either lying or an idiot.

And I don't see why someone would convert them to fit the MK5 platform because that would be sooo much more effort than its worth with plenty of Porsche and other VAG upgrades available.

There was a dealer option brembo upgrade for the Mk2 Leon, it was Mk1 leon Cupra R brembo calipers with a 323mm x 30mm disc in 5x112 fitment

Am i the only person that finds the standard Gti brake set up perfectly adequate for fast road use!
Ive recently fitted new genuine discs ans pads all round along with new rear calipers which may help but even coming from a mk1 focus Rs with 4 pot Brembo's on front i still find the Gti set up fine

The GTI's brakes are the best I've ever used, so they feel much better to my old 1.8 Focus Zetec's.... 

That said, if there's better and it's relatively affordable, why not eh?

I took an S3 set off mine last week and put on GTI ones - they are definitely lacking in comparison. However, the car stops so they work.
I still can't believe that they weren't standard on an ED30.

If you're running a standard car then the stock brakes will work perfectly well, even when driven hard as VW probably spent more than we've all spent combined on modifications actually developing the brakes for the mk5 GTI!

But when we start adding extra power that isn't in the original design, that's when upgrades make sense. My girlfriend has almost the same power output as my GTI (both run stage 1) and we both feel the same that my car with the larger R32 fronts inspire more confidence and it's less effort to slow the car down compared to the stock GTI brakes.

That aside, a nice "Porsche" or "RS" logo under an alloy is rather cool to most people... Not all I'll admit... But most...

I'm not going for cool I'm going for the my cars running a hybrid and it don't stop its my last mod so at the track the brakes won't hold out for 3 laps let alone a day. Needs to be 4s or 6 pots but thanks for the Input dude
