Central locking query please help
« on: September 15, 2020, 07:18:14 pm »
Hi guys. Doing a favour for a mate and her 57 plate golf 5 door she's just bought.

Had it motd and failed on a few things. One of which was both wing mirror indicators not working. Popped to the local scrapyard and the right one works fine, passanger not so.

Anyway. The passanger from door doesn't lock, window doesn't work, mirror doesn't work too. Been to our local auto electrician and he's recommending replacing the passanger Central locking motor. Which is a pain as door skin off?

I'm hoping this issue solves all the problems. I noticed the wiring loom has black tape all over it, I'm assuming someone has had a good before, and also assume it's been checked.

Thanks guys

Wouldn't have thought the door motor would affect the other failures?

Check out the Humble mechanic's video before you fit the door lock theres a couple of good tips on there that are not obvious.

I'd be checking under the tape, you will probably find the fault regarding the mirror and window under there.

Thanks mate. I'm assuming he will have checked the wiring there. Will call him tomorrow to double check.

Side repeaters are

The lock didn't solve the problem. Taking it some where else who thinks it's the loom.

A few things not working would suggest broken wires in the loom.
Can be hard to spot as it's so tight in there and hard to see internal wire breakage.

Interior door card is off. The outer skin one of the lads in work took off and didn't take him long at all. Can get a working loom local if needed, get on well with the scrappy ha ha.

What a palava. Been at the auto techs all day. Tested various wires, tried a window motor etc. Still no joy. Seems to think all roads lead to the ccm?.

Central locking is certainly a head scratcher!! My drivers door doesnt unlock on the fob but ever yother door does but it locks the same as the others when locked on the fob!! I gave up in the end and just unlock drivers door with the key. Very strange.

That will probably be the lock module?.

This is an issue I wish I hadn't offered to help with. She bought the car in faith and this issue most certainly has been known about prior. Spoke to her before and when she bought the car she said the door isn't locking. He said, mmm it did before?!?. Ass hole.

We are confident it's the ccm module thing. Ordered one with same part number and get it fitted next week sometime.

Fingers crossed 🤞
