Which wings.
« on: October 13, 2020, 07:16:06 am »
What's the current opinion on which replacement wings to get?
I am watching some on ebay and would prefer pre sprayed but understand a match might be a problem.
Mine is silver.

I kept an eye on my local car breaker.

In the end I got two genuine factory painted wings (same colour as the car) for £75 all in......the match was perfect as expected.

It is a waiting game to do it my way, but it paid off.

Are they the Lothian ones on eBay?
they have good reputation, a friend of mine got some for his Mk4 and was really pleased.
I think someone on here used them recently & read good things on other forums.

Granted, the panels themselves won’t be as good quality as OEM, but for speed and convenience they are great

Lothian seem to have zero listings on their eBay store at the moment, or they did 2 days ago. I'm in the same boat, drivers side is bubbling and the passenger side is starting to look like something out of Mad Max :signLOL:

No they're not Lothian but bcpautomotive.
I have found some on Amazon painted for £144 each. I wonder if that is a good deal?

Charles Trents car breakers are local to me and also have an ebay site.......they are the ones I used for my OEM wings.

https://www.trents.co.uk/

Just calling them up is a lot easier

Lothian auto parts on ebay where i got mine. I used one genuine and one lothian and the bodyshop said there was practically no difference in fit.
