Yes, just get a 4 berth cabin (or 2) and split them up between you all. First car with the cabin is £250 ish and it's £35 ish per person and car in addition. You just split the cost.

I don't know if you've looked too, but you've not got a great deal of TF on those dates either:

07.05.10 closed
08.05.10 17:30 until 19:30 - Touristenfahrten (Nordschleife)
09.05.10 08:00 until 19:00 - Touristenfahrten (Nordschleife)

GP circuit TF closed.

So the track is shut on Friday

Only open for 2 hours on Saturday

and Sunday its 8am to 7pm

is this for def?

....Nothing, including the weather is for def on the 'Ring. Those are fairly typical Nordschleife TF open hours. You'll still have a great time.

- Don't get over-confident or distracted - The Nordschleife demands respect and you need to stay very focussed all the way round.  and not look at the countryside........... :P

....This'll make you and TC laugh, Dave: At the junction where the GP track joins the Nordschleife again (recent VLN circuit trackday) I had to stop myself from checking the righthand side for traffic joining! That part is closed off of course.

However, I am getting better and slowly faster. Or is that faster slowly? Or just slower?

When you then get back to the car park just leave it in D with the handbrake off. No need to leave the keys in.

I would then give the car 30mins before the next lap  :happy2:

....Crikey! I've been leaving it with the handbrake off but in P. Never had any probs so far but I may have been doing it wrong - Anyone explain a bit more detail info about P, please?

Again, I'm probably wrong, but why as long as 30mins? Though it's actually about the same timing I do but not consciously.

Hi Robin,

I am not 100% sure, but I think (I read somewhere or someone told me) that in P the brakes are applied..............but I could be talking poop  :ashamed:  :ashamed:  :ashamed:

P is correct, sorry it was a slip after some wine  :drinking:

^^^^
So leaving DSG in P is okay (Phew!) and so doesn't actually engage the handbrake?

....Cheers Steve - Good to know  :happy2:

[Thinks: I guess it must use the gears.. Pretty logical as P is a DSG setting]

Ok guy's, P it is then.....I don't know where I heard that it applies the brakes  :ashamed:

Does anyone know if Mike is going on the ferry?

I have still not booked....but I WILL today. I just don't fancy the long drive home on the 10th. (Ring to Calais, then Calais to Lincoln).

I have also thought about going with you guy's on the tunnel to the Ring, and then getting the Rotterdam-Hull ferry back.

if you want to lend me your camera and mount I will gladly video my laps.....not that they will be any good mate.

Now its getting close to the trip I really wish I had taken some instructor training. I would really love to learn track driving. (cornering and braking etc)

Is there any sort of training available at the Ring?   :driver:

....Yes. RSR offer training. They'll also hire you their Lambo for about 3 grand but it carries a £60k excess in case you stuff it.

....Do some passenger laps with someone who knows the Nordschleife and who can talk you through the best lines and turn-in points.

[Well that rules out anyone from this forum then ]
