But we are also going via Wolfsburg and will be getting to the ring Saturday afternoon .

....Will you be visiting Autostadt then? Very much worth a visit imo.

....I haven't been on the factory tour but there's a lot to see just in the Autostadt pavilions. Enjoy! :happy2:

....

At the risk of sounding like your dad, if it's your first time:

- One of the lads here will gladly give you a passenger ride first so you see what the Nordschleife feels like. Simulator games etc are limited.

- Drive your first laps slower and build your confidence up during the day. It's not a race.

- Don't get over-confident or distracted - The Nordschleife demands respect and you need to stay very focussed all the way round.

- Simply drive within both your car's limits and your driver limitations. Have fun but be safe.

- When you think "just one more lap".. Don't do it!

- Keep a very keen eye on your rear view mirrors!!

Enjoy!

I'm not the expert which reading this might lead you to think I am. You're with a crowd who know what they're doing (mostly!) and who will guide and look after you.

....This'll make you and TC laugh, Dave: At the junction where the GP track joins the Nordschleife again (recent VLN circuit trackday) I had to stop myself from checking the righthand side for traffic joining! That part is closed off of course.

However, I am getting better and slowly faster. Or is that faster slowly? Or just slower?

When you come off a hard lap on standard brakes I always went for a cool drive drive down the long straight next to the ring entrance.

When you then get back to the car park just leave it in D with the handbrake off. No need to leave the keys in.

I would then give the car 30mins before the next lap  :happy2:

Thanks Steve, but I thought you had to put the car in P to get the keys out???

....Crikey! I've been leaving it with the handbrake off but in P. Never had any probs so far but I may have been doing it wrong - Anyone explain a bit more detail info about P, please?

Again, I'm probably wrong, but why as long as 30mins? Though it's actually about the same timing I do but not consciously.

Hi Robin,

I am not 100% sure, but I think (I read somewhere or someone told me) that in P the brakes are applied..............but I could be talking poop  :ashamed:  :ashamed:  :ashamed:
