Ha, I think I will be getting some Tandem Push bike training then Robin

....Do some passenger laps with someone who knows the Nordschleife and who can talk you through the best lines and turn-in points.

[Well that rules out anyone from this forum then ]

Well guy's, after alot of thought I have decided to go on the Hull-Rotterdam ferry. I am going Wed night and spending Thursday with friends in Monchengladbach. Its on route to Nurburg from Rotterdam too.

So I will see you all on Friday. It would be really good to join the convoy but I am not sure if you will be coming anywhere near Monchengladbach.

If not I will see you at the Hotel.

I'm still waiting for my hotel reservation confirmation  :scared:

One quick question, GB Stickers. Will one on the rear window do? or do you need em on your plates?

I wouldn't even bother with them but if your going to stick one on, put it on the rear window where the wiper doesn't wipe

Another question for you lot.....I am getting 2 new tyres fitted on Weds. Should I be putting them on the front or on the rear. Normally I would have put them on the front, but I'm not sure if they will be scrubbed-in enough for the track, or would they be better going on the rear? I might be talking cak again lads....sorry, you will have to put up with me  :ashamed:

New ones on the rear. Should be worn in by the time you get to the 'ring :happy2:

Anyone taking video? - mounted cam pics and vids welcome when you get back.

Don't go timing your laps :innocent:  *mumbles sub 8'15" b to g for me!*

if you want to lend me your camera and mount I will gladly video my laps.....not that they will be any good mate.

Now its getting close to the trip I really wish I had taken some instructor training. I would really love to learn track driving. (cornering and braking etc)

Is there any sort of training available at the Ring?   :driver:

what dates are you going, if its the 21st onwards i dont mind sitting in, or taking you round in mine i have done some 160+ laps round there now so sort of know my way round  :happy2:

.... x 2

Always put deeper treads on the rear axle on our FWD Golfs. I had to have a pair of new tyres just before our recent 'Ring trackday. The drive there will settle them in. No tyre probs experienced by me.

Ideally for track you want tyres which are worn a fair bit with less tread than new, assuming they are road tyres.

Thanks guy's......I don't feel it was such a silly question now  :happy2:  I would have normally just put em on the front.  :ashamed:

....Being FWD there's a logic in putting your deeper tread tyres on the front drive wheels, but the grip is needed on the rear to help stop it overtaking you! When your front tyres get used up, you can move the rears to the front and then put some new ones on the rear.
