Just thinking, couldn't I just turn the esp off ?? (Is this a really silly question!)

Yes, very silly  :signLOL:

1. It never really turns off anyway so pressing the button only enables a bit of slip for a fast start but if the car thinks its getting too dangerous it acts accordingly.

2. It's a vital safety component and you never know when you'll need it.

Lol ! Thanks for your honesty  :booty:

Just brought 2 Vredesteins off the bay for £86.95 each so I'm happy with that.

He is talking about tread patterns and tread compounds I believe. The rolling difference between the wheels due to the extra grip on one axle will make the car think it's skidding and take action by applying individual brakes and shifting power when really no action needs to be taken (I think that is what you were on about RR?). I can see this being very dangerous.

....Exactly that, Nasir   :happy2:

....Best never to turn off the ESP unless you are a very experienced driver or on track (but perhaps not on the Nordschleife!). On the road the circumstances are continually and dynamically changing and you never know when you gonna need it. Anyone who tries telling you otherwise is just willy-waving!

I have just changed my front 2 to Vredesteins too so problem solved!  :happy2:

Have to say they do feel better than the dunlops, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated  :pomppomp:

....The Vreds are reported to be excellent. Certainly asymmetrics are a great improvement on directionals.

Don't forget that new deeper tread tyres will always feel better initially (after you've settled them in after a couple of hundred miles).
