Looked great and good power!
You should take it to a detailer to try and blend the back quarter if it’s not a good match!

I never noticed it when I bought it but you can clearly see it in the dealer pics, bloody annoying  :scared:

I had the same problem with my satin silver mkiv. Tony Payne's bodyshop got it spot on, but others didn't. I am sure no-one else noticed, but bugged me! Apparently there were 7 shades of satin silver, being pearlescent. I would have thought reflex silver would have been easier, but obviously not!

There are a few variants I'm told.

Small walk round.

Going to do track day soon, my first for about 10 years!! So to get the Edition 30 ready for a day its going into Maxtreme my local VW specialist for Superpro ball joints to give neg camber, EBC orange race pads and a brake fluid change using Brembo 5.1 fluid.

Look forward to thrashing it around Cadwell park.  I've been driving like a loon on the road lately, and when people are coming the other way on B roads when i'm using all the road it's not good!

Guys I'm getting aP0299 underboost code, on the Edition 30 freeze frame data showed at 6700rpm it was only making 1020mbar. Did some high load logs earlier when roads were quiet, it's making 1.5bar atm....Feels quicker than ever too.

Not smoke tested it to see if its got a leak, but the requested and actual boosts seem to match? Diverter valve flutters sometimes, get a rattle from guessing wastegate on start up ?

Hi,

6700 rpm is quite high up the rev range. Even if its target boost is 1.5 bar through the midrange I doubt you would want to hold that amount higher up. It normally tails off to protect the motor.

Although the code suggests there's something going on

It's had this code for a year or more, i can never feel a lack of boost and generslly it used to hold 1.3 bar all the way through going by old logs.

I'm not complaining as it's going rrally well just like to get to the bottom of this code.

Also logged airflow and got a peak figure of 252 g/s - equates to 315bhp, which isn't far off what it dynod on a Maha when it was mapped. So its going very well.  :driver:

I had to put some Texaco 97 SUL in yesterday as i was too far to get to my local Vpower station that I always run. So I chucked a bottle of Nitrox octane booster in too... contains methanol and exhaust stinks !!

Sent the logs to a mate who works at Ecutek in London, his repluy was this -

Yes, because the parameter for deviation from target to actual boost is set narrow or your turbo is simply getting tired or chocked.

Just interested, Did you manage to sort the under boost code?
Perhaps if you're going back to the same guys that mapped it they could do a diagnostic run checking for boost spikes or areas where it cannot meet target. If everything is working ok and no leaks they can then adjust the parameter so this doesn't keep flagging up.

Nice looking car btw  :happy2:
