Superchips stage 2+ for K03
jmspear:
Do they do one? are they any good?
Nothing on their website, yet seems to be posts from people who have them fitted vrs @ amd?? But he didn't seem to get on well with their map.
I spoke to a tuner yesterday and he recommended Revo, but thing is I have a stage 1 Superchip and TBE and am getting an ITG and HPFP next week and want to go stage 2+ thing is SC will be <much> cheaper than revo (£50 for stage 1 -> stage 2, so presume similar for stage 2+ if it exists) but everyone seems to recommend revo, yet this will be £600 according to their website which is so much more.
Anyone with any experience of SC stage 2+ please and recommendations. Thanks John
Janner_Sy:
i had superchips stage 1, 2 and 2+ on my vRS and with the exception of stage 1, i wasnt impressed. they seem to be good on the k04, but i know of quite a few guys whos cars witj K03 cars which have underperformed and been erratic in its delivery(thats from guys on SCN, briskoda and here and personal experience)
i changed to shark performance(which can be had with a handheld unit just like bluefin) after being pretty much set on changng to REVO, and it was much better in delivery and drivability than the
bluefin was.
my review is here,

plus if you want to read reviews have a look on briskoda in his subforum or in the octy 2 forum
http://briskoda.net/forums/forum/154-shark-performance/
an added bonus that im not sure if any other tuning companies can do, is he can deactivate something in the ECU which will allow you to allow you to left foot brake without the ecu cutting in and you will get that for free i think as well

Agree with Sy - got identical results with stage2+ Superchips map compared to stage2 on JKM's dyno.
Same dilemma as you now - is it worth me forking out a load of money to see how much better Revo/Shark is over my current setup? Probably not.
However... I'd say for the £50 upgrade from stage 1 it's a bit of a bargain given I still got 251 bhp. Just don't expect anything magical. Will be a considerable jump from your stage 1 though :happy2:

Thanks guys, very informative. Appreciate the info. Just pondering the cost, can prob get £200 for my SC bluefin...? so only £350 to change - Ouch - (after taking into account the £50 for a stage II BF map.
Cheers again
John
Timmyboy:
Not that simple unfortunately - you'd need to get the Bluefin reset by Superchips before you sell it as it's locked to your ECU, otherwise it's not worth a great deal. Can't remember what this will set you back but it's in the region of £250 ish.
