Key Fob Synchronising

Hi Guys

Fairly new to the Forum and recently purchased my Ed30 which i'm loving at the moment.

So here we go... After driving home from work last night it seems my remote key fob isn't working regarding locking/un-locking the car!? It worked as usual when i went to the car to go home,so i thought it might need the battery changing so changed for a brand new one...still no joy. So i thought i'd try the spare fob...again no joy???
So after reading several posts on here,i'm thinking my key fobs need re-synchronising as both LED's light up on the fobs but happy to listen to anyone advice or experiences with the same issue as it seems a fairly common issue.

If you've had this problem could you give me some guidance to resolve this issue please or maybe point me in direction of someone with VAGcom VCDS in the East Midlands I'm based in Derby,but willing to travel to get this sorted out.

Hi. I had a similar issue and replaced with a decent make battery, Duracell iirc.

There is guides through google so maybe have a mooch. I did mine but my memory has always been bad lol.

Thanks for the reply... Think it was the premium Ever Ready battery that was bought last week and fitted not Duracell but i would think it should do the job... Not the Pound shop rubbish.
I'll have another Google and see what comes up and report back.

Insert the key to be programmed into the driver's door lock.
Manually lock the driver's door using the key.
Press the Lock or Unlock button on the fob once.
Wait for a least one second.
