Where to get ignition feed for handsfree kit???
« on: April 17, 2010, 10:33:21 am »
Hey troops in the middle of installing the parrot handsfree kit to the golf, got the centre console out and got everything plugged in but I am left with a red wire coming from the sot adaptor, which I am guessing is the ignition feed.
Where is the easiest place to get an ignition feed and what colour is the wire.
Cheers in advance.

Fusebox.

Have a search on here and uk-mkivs.net, someone has a thread with a photo showing which slot in the fusebox to use.

As above, fusebox is the best.  If you buy a VW repair wire you can slot into the back of the fuse box and use a blade fuse to protect the supply.

Or you can take one from the climate controls under the stereo. Much easier to do it this way! If you look at it still connected, if I remember correctly, the far right two wires are switched live and ground.

I used these when I first had my Parrot kit in and it worked perfectly

Pin 20 on the climate controls worked for me.
