Edition 30 Alloy wheel refurbishment
« on: January 16, 2021, 11:21:43 pm »
Hi - i'm looking to get my ED 30 alloys refurbed over winter. Is there any particular shade of silver VW used or it it just "silver"?

IIRC it was Titan Grey or Titan silver.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Stealhwolf is right - VW have never been forthcoming with the paint code.

I always found the original finish to be pretty dull. Poor on VW's behalf.

As a birthday treat last year i had my alloys refurbished, and they were close to the colour that VW refurbished the faces in when i bought the car. The colour was BMW Ferric grey!!

It's a nice shade and I've been very happy with it

I wouldn’t be shy about using a slightly different shade if you prefer it. The identical looking VZ model came in an anthracite which would look great with certain paint colours.  When I had my Monza II refurbed, I did the insets with metallic black to match the bodywork and this gives a better contrast with the polished faces.

Thanks all for the replies. There is a hint of grey to the silver so I'll try for Titan Grey or BMW Ferric Grey

The original finish of the Pesceras was quite a bright sparkley silver, which looks a bit naff imo.  A slightly darker silver but not quite as dark as anthracite is spot on.
