Fitment help needed
« on: February 11, 2021, 11:47:34 am »
I have just fitted coilovers on my mk5 gti and my wheels were rubbing on the shock. I have 19inch Audi rotors with 235/35/19 tyres. Before the coilovers I had 3mm spacers. I put 10mm on and I’m getting a crazy amount of arch rub (I’ve done the screw mod and rolled the inner lip) any suggestions on what I could do? Thanks in advance

Perhaps those wheels have too large an offset with those spacers added? You probably don’t want to go lower than 45mm in total.

Do you think going to 225’s would make a difference

I’m not exactly sure on offset but they’re 19 inch Audi rotors 8.5j and the ones that are less concaved

If they are genuine rotors 19x8.5 should be et43 and you put a 10mm spacer they your at et33
It all depends how low you are and how much your rubbing

There is a screw mod you can do which is remove the screw that is holding in your arch liner and bend the tab so that it holds the arch liner in, from what I remember that’s normally the first point of rubbing

If your very low you’ll need 215/35/19 and rolled arches possibly camber

You could get away with 225/35/19 depending how low you are

It’s hard for me to remember as I have changed to srs tec wings and I’m on air suspension
