Front indicators permanently on.
« on: January 31, 2021, 03:06:33 pm »
Hi everyone,

First post here. I did a search but couldn't find anything specific to my issue. I may have missed it though.

Anyway, I purchased my first VW Golf GTI yesterday after a while of BMW ownership. I picked up a black 57 plate. Anyway, I have noticed that the front indicators are permanently on. They work fine and flash when I use them to indicate turns, but they just stay on (without flashing) when driving along normally.

I wondered, is this a fault, or has my car been programmed to do this? The car is quite modified anyway with Ramair induction, stainless exhaust and a remap.

Hoping for some input as I need to figure out whether I should take this to an auto electrician or could this be done via a Carly type device/app?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Sam :)

Daytime running lights (US spec) have been enabled, might be able to do them on a Carly, if not needs VCDS.

Loads of threads if you Google - "daytime running lights mk5 golf gti.co.uk"

Thank you Lewis and GVK. Appreciate the input. Will grab a carista and see if that works. :)
