Noob question about brakes

I'm going to replace the brakes front and back completely. That's new discs and pads all round and a new passenger rear caliper as I suspect its faulty. The handbrake isn't holding fully on that side and the discs have an inner lip on them and old n rusty.

I'm assuming there 312 fronts and 282mm rears but not sure what pads to get as there are a few different codes and sizes.
My question is what pad size would I need and do they all have pad sensors on the gti?

I'm also assuming brembo discs an pads are recommended?

To find the correct discs and pads look at the PR codes on the sticker in the boot or original handbook.

I like Brembo stuff - is there a bigger world wide company specialising in brakes out there?

The discs come with a good rust resistant finish that leaves the bell of the rear discs looking good + they also come with retaining screws...the only minor annoyance with those is its a cross head rather than torq, but better than nothing.
The standard pads stop well for normal road use -but if you are more a fast road driver you may want something with a more bite - and I can't say that I have noticed them producing much dust.

The Brembo catalogue is usually really detailed, down to car, that should confirm the pad size - but it doesn't seem to be working for me just now.
Front left is the only wheel with wear sensor - you may get the sensor with the new pads.

There's a PR code on a sticker? I didn't know know that. There's a black sticker on the A piller with engine code and chassis number but never knew about one in the boot. Thanks will have a look.

So apart from brembo, any other brands to get?

Brembo discs are great. I should have a look at mintex m1144 pads, I don’t like the brembo pads.

I would just get the ATE branded discs and pads from ECP if you don't intend on tracking it.  Cheap, oem brand and last well. 

I have the Brembo discs on the back of mine (from ECP) because they didn't have ATE rears in stock, and they've warped and rusted to sh1t already.  Won't be using those again. Don't be taken in by the Brembo brand.  Sure their big brake kits and OEM monster setups fitted to Ferraris etc are top drawer, but their common or garden stuff for the aftermarket isn't all that.

Bit late as just bought brembo disc n pads all round. Lol. I used the link
http://prsearch.planetvag.com/ to find all the PR codes as to what they ment. Pretty good site and got what I was looking for.
Hopefully they work as expected as my handbrake isn't holding the passenger rear and when I took the wheel off, the disc had a inner and outta lip real bad and rusty as hell.

I remember buying mintex on my audi a3 and they was terrible. Used to hum when heavy braking.

I got these brakes from carparts4less with a better discount that ecp.  :happy2:

Not to create new topic I would also like to ask about breaks.
Saw some of you guys recommended Vagbremtechnic hooked ones plus ferodo 2500 pads. Would this be a good choice?
Since I do need to replace my front discs and I really dont like stock breaks at all. Not sure if it's worth doing rear as well? Maybe just better pads? Or is it better to get breaks from r32 like some other people are suggesting.
Would appreciate any information.
