Tommy's Tornado Red GTI
« on: January 27, 2014, 07:23:28 pm »
Been on here a while now and thought it was time to do a build thread.
First car I got was a mk5 gt tdi 140 didn't really have much spec but was a massive upgrade from a corsa c

All I did to this was a revo remap which totally changed the car.
As my insurance was due I thought I'd see what a gti was like. Anyways it was afford able so I got 1. This is what she looks like

2006 58k on the clocks iPod connection and the usual gti cloth trim 18' monzas. It's so hard to find a gti with all the spec you want. Anyways after I had this a month or so I caught the bug and bought some coilovers.

Nice and cheap. Few mates are running them and said they couldn't complain. Here a few Pics after she was lowered.

I then though she was high so the rear adjusters came out

Then the front went down a little

Still room for more lows :)
Then I hit the forums insta websites for the next buy as I was getting bored so this happened autotech cai.
Not much happened then until I went to a few shows got some ideas and then got a deal at the awesome gti bash where I bought a non res milltek cat back. But after I few days I realised that I should off got a turbo back and nearly had a heart attack when I asked for a decat and downpipe price. So that night I became a eBay warrior and bought an eBay special for £100 delivered.

Few pictures of it being put on

Bought a little plate from inters. I think full sized plates make the front look shocking

Nout happened for a few weeks until I got some new wheels what completely changed the car. Which took about 3 months to come 3sdms 0.05 staggered.

You've gotta love the mk5 rear end.
But it caught like a mofo so went to get some rear camber

No messing full camber. Here's a few more off how it's sits

I ran 225/40 rear and 215/35 front. So with the 35 profile it made it look high so down she went the night before players.

The filthy whore

My favourite picture
And a few more

GOLF MK5 FRONT GRILLE STANDARD (Wrapped)
« Reply #1 on: February 01, 2014, 11:16:49 pm »
I have a front standard grill for sale which has been wrapped, the people that did it did a very good job on it for me. The original colour under this is reflex silver

The reason why I'm selling this is because I have now fitted a gt bumper meaning that I won't be needing this anymore seen as the grill is different

RNS315 to RNS510 Upgrade - Retain DAB and BT?
« Reply #3 on: February 04, 2015, 12:38:42 am »
Hi all. Does anyone know if the bluetooth on my RNS315 is built into the unit or an external module? Also, is it possible to get a version of the RNS510 with DAB?

I would want to retain both if I upgraded.

The interior handle for the bonnet is coming loose on the GTi, it's not obvious how it's attached, there's obviously a clip that's come lose, but anyone had this before?
