Hi folks,
I have an 09 mk5 gti 6speed DSG (135kms, fully serviced) and have recently started to get the dreaded PRNDS. The code is P2711 OBD-II Trouble Code: Unexpected Mechanical Gear Disengagement.
I’ve had the clutch replaced (flywheel has already been replaced) gear changes are better, but problem is still there.
When starting the car from cold, when you put it into D the car will judder slightly, (feels like it’s trying to move off) if you keep your foot on the break the PRNDS will pop up. Turn off car and back on again, car will drive with no problems.
If however after putting into D (again from cold) and you release the break immediately, the car will go forward and into 2nd immediately and will drive without any problem from then.
I’m Really stumped on this.
As I see it it’s now down to the mechatronic or gearbox?
Also just to say that there was a grating noise up until recently on the first few gear changes, mainly from 1 to 2nd, would stop after a few mins, but this has now disappeared🤪
Any help really appreciated!

Are you in the UK? Bristol Gearbox are the people I would be in touch with.
