Aircon / fan issue
« on: February 27, 2021, 11:21:56 am »
This morning turned on my heating to demist the windows etc and there is nothing blowing out. The lights come as normal... any ideas?

Wondering if anything has frozen up

Hi what setting is the fan set? If it works on full and nothing else then the resistor has failed but beware as the fan can also cause the resistor to fail. I’ve had it before where I’d change a resistor and it would work only to fail again later and it would need both.

If it doesn’t work at all I’d check the voltage at the fan and if you’re getting 12v on full but nothing on lower settings again fan and resistor. If you’re getting different voltages for different settings I’d go fan.

If no voltage what so ever then check fuses etc

Hope this helps

Thanks @Neilios_Wol Doesn’t work on any setting. Could that mean both resistors are gone?

Hey bud you need to take the foam cover from the passenger side footwell out and check the voltage at the fan first. With off you’ll get 0v then turn it on one stage at a time and record your readings. If you get 0v at 1,2,3,4 then check the fuse for the fan. It’s probably blown.

For no fan whatsoever I’d say fuse rather than resistor
