Timing belt kit - oem or Euro car parts?

I am lucky enough to have used TPS for years, they were still happy to serve me after the trade only rule came in, plus give a good discount.
For me a 20 litre cube box of Quantum oil from TPS was £26 plus vat - much better value in bulk

Forget how much I paid from tps. Pretty sure it was dearer than that for 10 litres. :(.

I use Tps as well .....my first call for all parts then I tell my dealer how much I pay for them before they order and I usually beat them 
Best deal was genuine Mk 5 wings for £70 each including vat (mine were fitted under warranty) so were for my sons car

I had mine done about 5 months ago, I chose to use the Bosch kit. I did as much research as I could before I had it fitted and from what I can tell the continental or the Bosch one is the one to go for. Key advice being NOT to buy a metal impeller water pump.

Mine cost £110 and from what I have read it’s supposed to be the best OEM replacement. I bought mine here:

Careful ordering anything on autodoc, last thing I bought from there took 2 weeks to come and caused a lot of hassle!

It’s been on for 4000 miles now and I have nothing bad to say about it 

What's the reason for avoiding a metal impeller?

Mainly just because OE is plastic. If the metal impeller were to come loose, it would send metal shards throughout your engine which you may never get back out. There are reported cases of this happening. Probably installation error however I would personally stick with plastic impeller.

I am new to the site and dont know if this will be allowed to view. I purchased from AutoDOC Germany a Gates cam belt delivered cheaper than I could find in the UK. The garage I use no longer will use water pumps from  motor supplies. He insists on VAG parts due to failures in the past, and having to replace FOC.
I must state my experience is on Audi TT. Since last water pump replacement with VW product no problems "touch wood".

£70 for an OEM wing sounds a very good deal, was that from TPS or VW?
