brake fluid check owners manual
« on: March 17, 2021, 08:47:35 pm »
Just had a weird one, dropped my son of at his mums as he got out the car the dash pinged and had a message about “brake fluid check owners manual” it only flashed up for a few seconds barely enough time to read it and then it was gone,
anyways jumped out the car check brake fluid and the level looks fine but will need to check again in the daylight, had a look around all the wheels and can’t see anything wet or leaking, brake pedal feels just the same as always, I gave the brakes a good few tests on the way home and checked everything again when I got home and it all looks good and the warning never came back on.
Only got a cheap scanner tool but it didn’t bring up any codes.
It’s a bit of a strange one.

Probably low fluid. That link says check your rear pads too?

Had new rear disks pads and brake fluid done about a year ago. Will check the fluid again tomorrow as it was difficult to see the level in the dark but could see the fluid moving around when I wobbled the tank.

could be a gummed up or corroded contact on the float sensor.
