PVC Tester, what do ya think ?
« on: March 27, 2010, 03:10:05 pm »
A few weeks ago i was all for going for the red stripe on the lip on the front splitter, but recently decided against it as i liked the front end the way it was.

I found a roll of pvc tape today so decided to see what it looked like with the red lip, i stuck it on (pretty badly - as it was dirty) just to see what it looked like, and tbh i really like it

The thing is ive already got an edition 30 front splitter which the red stripe will be fitted to and laquered over the top off, but i was wondering if you would think that it would look stupid as the front vallance will be colour coded and the rest of the gtis rear bumper, skirts ect ect will be standard plastic matt black. My other optinon was to fit the ed30 front splitter without painting it
What do you fink ???

Sorry iphone pics :scared:

First thought was KITT Knight Rider.

Does look different.
No Golf anymore.
Enjoyed the last five years of ownership of Mk5 & 6 GTIs.
Plus an excellent forum for knowledge and new ways to deplete the bank account.
Thank You Everyone.

What next? your mirrors? . . . maybe your petrol cap then your wipers? Ha ha joking mate
but hope you get the picture. To me, you cannot beat the look of the bumpers/skirts/splitters
body colour-coded, proper oem punch. Once you start picking out this and picking out that it
looks as if you're either 17 or you've not got the confidence in the car in it's awesome standard
appearance. I reckon less is more, then the few choice bits you've got hit harder.

You need to put your tax disc down into the corner, too  :happy2:

V2brett, those headlights look great. Did you buy them or are they modded oem?
Wouldn't require the blue mains just the darker interior. Nice one.

Already done my mirrors !

yea i think i will do it but over the laquer like you said. The stripe will be more at risk of damage but less permanent. The final stripe ill be using is alot finer though (5mm) same as on my mirrors.

My main concern though was painting the ed 30 front splitter and leaving the rest of the standard gti plastic trim black, im not sure how that would look though ?

I was even considdering selling the ed30 splitter and buying the vwr one, but so far ive bought - vwr v3s, r32 brakes, and possibly the eibach ARBs that i will not be fitting to my car and didnt really want to add to this list.
