Poor idle
« on: July 02, 2021, 10:30:02 pm »
My car has suddenly started idling poorly, got a code from vcds of p2279 air leak, does this sound like a failed pcv valve?

That is certainly a potential culprit. If the PCV valve is stuck open, it will definitely cause an air leak.

I think P2279 is to do with your diverter valve. Does it pull alright?

is intake air leak so check the PCV, the PCV gasket and the brake servo pipe work. Spray WD40 at the suspected leak and the engine will suck it in raising the idle.

Well I deleted the code and it hasn't come back, the car ran fine all this week but I have changed the pcv and gasket just in case. The pcv was the original but seemed to be working fine when removed. Odd
