The cube idea hey!?!.

Prefer the old skool plastic bottle method lol

I get the litre bottles from AVS.

Hi guys. Recommend grade of oil. Car has done 82k doesn't swam to use as much as some but tbh I don't do much milage. Think people mention a good 5-40?

Appreciate the replies 👍

The official VW stance on oil is 5w30 on longlife servicing, or 5w40 on fixed 10K intervals.

Longlife should be avoided really as it just varnishes the inside of the engine and hardens oil seals.

More regular changes will keep the engine internals clean, and the oil seals supple.

Yeah I do about 4k a year, less recently. Had the car 18 months and this will be its second change. Will stick with 5 40 going forward 👍

After changing the oil and filter in my car at about 7k miles the filter was in a right state so I am doing it at 5k miles now.

The oil will last with the 10k mile changes ok but that filter was very ropey looking. Hopefully it will clean it all up in there once it has been done a few times. I am working away for the forseeable future so clocking up the miles.

Castrol edge for me, in 5w40 flavour.
