On hols I had warning light come up, not water ,never happened in 2 years ,filled it up and had a little fun with a BMW ,within 2 mins the warning light was back on and empty again
Travelled back home on motorway 160 miles and used 7 litres of water, sitting at 50mph it lasted ages and engine was cool at first ,in traffic ,temp shot up and water went quick ,accelerate and water went quick ,I'm not expert ,but I can't see any water loss ,but googled symptoms and it says water pump ,just wondering if any of you guys could shed any light ,many thanks

You need to look for evidence of where the water is going.
If you had the proper pink G12/13 coolant it leaves a residue where it leaks.
If it is water pump there should be a trail at the bottom of the engine near the crank pulley.

I’ve just replaced my timing belt and wasn’t going to change the water pump, I had 1 in a box but though if it ain’t broke! Then I noticed some pink flakes on the crank pulley, the pump was leaking from the shaft, easy enough fix, pelican parts have great step by step guides.
