should i get a twintake
« on: March 30, 2010, 02:45:35 pm »
i decided to sell my car, stripped off the HPFP and ITG and sold them, but have now changed my mind, and im now keeping it so i need to rebuy an intake and HPFP.  what a tool i here you say.

ive been in comms with forge who want to fit a twintake to my car.  Im  thinking since i want to keep the tame the car sound wise(the catt back is coming off, but DD staying on) it could be a bit quieter than the open filter ITG that was on there before, so i should get some good gains, but less noise

or do i just go for the ITG again cos it did sound mental, and looked the mutts nuts.  im like the little test fit skoda. first the ITG, next could be the twntake.

What do you guys reckon.  Id be able to do a good comparison i suppose

I would say get the Twintake for comparison.  I would be very interesting to hear your thoughts.

My car was used for the development of the S3 Twintake.  Forge were great to deal with and looked after me well  :happy2:

oi mike,

think your self lucky, that dent you managed to make in my rear bumper is all fixed now,

I managed to reverse it into a car, it must be the car if we both managed it, anyways the bumper is all new and shiny and dent free for the time being.  you still in chatham

i think the forge is too loud! its wierd. Turbo spool is stupidly loud on mine and once i let off, the whoosh is like im running a spacer! sounds like a bloody scooby! im changing my forge DV for a OEM one at the weekend so shall see if that makes any difference!

The gains with the twintake are very very noticable, especially with the pump aswell, carries on pulling to 6.5k.

If you need any games consoles or games, accessories, etc etc, PM me for my best price,

the scooby will ONLY sound like that if it too is running a monster intake or atmos DV.

otherwise its quiet in the whoosh stakes.

a 5" exhaust will make it sound fecking awesome tho.

Yea it Quacks me up too !

Its up to you about the twintake, i just got the itg myself as recommended by revo. Me personally i always go with what i know, so if the ITG floats your boat id stick with it, if you want something a little quieter or didnt like a particular quality of the ITG then go for the twin take, it certainly looks nicer IMO

TBH i dont think it will make much differance which one you buy they both seem to be the best Intakes money can buy anyhoo.
