Oil Pressure switch
« on: November 10, 2021, 05:57:19 pm »
Randomly scanning my 2007 GTi on 'Carly OBD' to check for 02 sensor issue and getting a code also of P0522 (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor).
No lights on dash regarding oil pressure or anything like that.

Ordered up an oem switch anyways just to replace it...looks like a nightmare to replace?

anyone done this themselves? any tips on doing it with out pulling the front of that car apart?

Cheers Lads!

Pelican parts do a very good set of DIY guides for the Mk5 - their oil pressure switch DIY is here:
https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Volkswagen_Golf_GTI_Mk_V/49-ENGINE-Oil_Pressure_Switch_Replacement/49-ENGINE-Oil_Pressure_Switch_Replacement.htm

Click on the pictures and they open up bigger on another tab.

I was going to say that it doesn't look too bad - Dont worry there are much worse jobs around the engine!
