As the forum heading suggested, I’m here to introduce myself.
I’m new to the world of Golfs. Just bought a 57 plate.
I have a question/issue already with one door not locking all of the time, which I’ll ask on a thread in the appropriate section.

Welcome! New owner here too.. first job I did was for the door actuator, would only lock using the physical key, no central locking.. If that sounds familiar, relatively easy job to do:

Very basic spanner experience here, this guide was perfect!

Also check the wiring harness from the body to the door, common problem for the wires to break over time with the constant flexing when opening & shutting the door. Repair kits are available I believe.

Fantastic help so far.
The door locks (when it wants to) by pressing the internal button and the light on it changes to orange, like in the photo. Tonight, it has decided that it doesn’t want to lock so I’ve had to park against something.
Any ideas if it isn’t turning orange because I’m doing something wrong or just because there’s a broken module?
