Removing rear door glass - is there a secret?
« on: December 17, 2021, 11:42:00 pm »
The gloss black trim on one of my rear doors was showing a couple of spots of rust so I decided to replace it. Around £30 from the dealer.

I have the outer door panel off but it looks like I need to free the glass from the regulator. I can see a plastic stud holding the glass to the regulator. Is there a secret to getting it out? Looks like an easy route to cracking the glass…

Edit for the benefit of others: You use a 5mm and 8mm bolt to get the two parts of the fixing out. Obvious when you are looking at it. When replacing, put the fixing back into the glass and then use light pressure to drop it into the bracket on the window regulator. Easy!
