Cleaning cloth seats

I've been wanting to sort out the worn drivers seat bolster for years.
Repairs, when you could get replacent fabric, was working out at £300+ probably nearer £350 now. 
I left it too long before buying the fabric and it had sold out when I looked early this year ....
So roll on to today and I managed to pick up a decent condidtion set of fabric seats 
No holes in fabric and foam still intact, so happy.... But they are a bit grubby.
So looking for recommendations on products to clean them please, I have got some BH Surfed HD degreaser, I was wondering if a weak mix would be ok as a starter then use something else after?

Use Autoglym Interior cleaner - brilliant stuff. About £8 from Halfords or similar

Spray on cloth items - leave for 10 mins - agitate with soft brush - wipe off with wet microfibre, rinse and repeat.

Removes most dirt and stains, grease, gunge etc.  Doesn't ruin your interior or discolour the fabric.

Great product  - PS I don't work for Autoglym either !

Years ago I hired a Rug Doctor for about £20.  It came with a hose attachment so did the seats in my old car, then did some carpets in the house as well.

Also, Surfex HD would be a good start as a weak mix.

I wonder what ratio mix I should go with the surfex if I use it, 20:1, weaker..?

Having another look at the seats, they're not that bad a condition. Only one of the seats has a stain.

I use 1001 carpet cleaner on everything in the car, or Vanish spot cleaner.  Cheap as chips and mighty effective.

Just noticed there looks like a black pen mark on one of the seats as well, what to use on that as well... Vanish spot cleaner?

get some seat covers Ive never cleaned my seats in 14 years

Yup.  1001 is especially good on the headliner.  You won't believe the crud that comes off that.  I spray a load onto a microfibre cloth and just wipe away. Obviously you don't want to go too wet on the headliner, or scrub too hard, but it does come up clean 

For permanent marker removal, isopropyl alcohol does the trick.

Still haven't found anything that removes cigarette and dog smells though

This is good advice for cloth. Spray something first, I used AG interior cleaner, which I guess is an APC, when I did a friends car using the household Vax. Could not believe the colour of the water afterwards.
