Oil question...
« on: March 08, 2022, 06:11:30 pm »
I've used a different garage for the latest service, and they have used fuchs 5w30 gt1 pro c3 ll3 oil.  The last garage used 5w40, so that's what I've got for top ups in the garage (Castrol edge) -
assuming that's no good now, I can't find the specific oil (specifically LL3, only XLT) will that be okay for top ups.

Going to do the next service myself so any oil recommendations for the self service are welcome too??

I get my service kit (oil, filter and sump plug) from Coverdale car parts. I use Quantum Platinum 5w40 in my car but they do list the 5w30 as well.

tend to go with fusch or quantum myself, tuned cars or higher mileage cars might benifit from 5w 40, but either will be fine

Oils can be mixed, so don't throw the old stuff out.  Just use it for top ups.

Quantum Platinum being Fuchs now is a good oil, and cheap.
