drilled and slotted brake discs
« on: February 01, 2022, 09:46:21 am »
has anyone used these in comparison to standard ones, in 2 minds about upgrading the fronts to performance pack ones but they are £550, if drilled and slotted discs will cut into the pads a bit and give me a little more bite then that might be enough,

I upgraded to drilled and slotted on my 350z. I noticed just a little more bite and a LOT more break dust. I wouldn’t bother again.

On my Mk5 I installed the larger front breaks from R32/S3/Cupra and it’s the best mod I’ve done. Stops so much better. It cost about £350 all in with brand new discs and pads.

Sorry I know it’s not really answering your question just sharing my personal experiences

thought about that but the price that the used calipers alone are going for is £350 then you need discs pads ect, so you wouldnt be far off the price for brand new vw performance brakes. maybe the drilled and slotted with better pads will just about suffice, thanks

Oh really? I got the calipers with a fresh coat of paint for £220 in June last year. My £350 was including new brembo (euros) discs and pads. There’s a guy in Oxford who puts the calipers from those cars up for sale quite regularly, must break them or something.

i think as owners of s3, golfrs, ect start reaching high mileage they themselves are needing replacements and looking for used instead of the sky high new prices,
