« on: February 07, 2022, 11:30:43 pm »
i know ebc are to be avoided and ferodo ds performance are one of the best but looking at a whole disc and brake kit that includes brembo pads, anyone used them and are they any better than standard?

When I replaced the discs all round on mine, I fitted cross drilled Brembo Xtra discs and Brembo pads. Very pleased with the results. Pads are wearing well, good brake "feel", no "squeal" when new and they stop the car smartly. Discs look good too.
Better than OEM? Don't know, but better than worn OEM.

If your not gonna use it for track days or racing illegally on the roads then go with brembo. We'll known brand and I only goto work in mine and occasional long journeys. I'm sire they will be good.

on the weekends in good weather i do press on in the twisties so i might wait until you test yours under hard braking, and have a look at the mintex 1s rich mentions,

I've used Brembo discs and pads, some have been good and others have been garbage. The garbage Brembos came from ECP.

there is different compunds though, mintex do oem replacements that are only £25, the m1144 are £152, i have used the oem mintex before in a cooper s and thought they were pretty poor but no worse than oem

im wondering if you might have got fakes, apparently lots pads can be faked and hard to tell, cant see any other reason for 1 set to be good and another to be scrap, unless th quality control is terrible
