Replacing pipercross panel filter....

Would you stick or twist and put a standard one next tine around on an other wise stock car

It's well documented they make bugger all difference so I'd stick to standard.
I'd only ever mess with the induction side on a car with a great sounding engine, those eventuri intakes sure look sexy and seem to make a  big difference on some cars but I would hope so for what they cost !

after finding the amount of dust in my maf using the ramair intake  i would rather have the standard one in, although this could be that the filter wasnt oiled,

I used to run the PiperCross dry foam panel in mine but went back to the standard paper one.  Didn't notice any difference.

How come you went back, just because it was due a swap?

I just wasn't comfortable with how much dirt gets through foam/cotton.

OEM.  The aftermarket ones don't fit as snuggly in the air box.

i have another car with a k@n induction kit that uses an oiled cotton filter and that seems to do a much better job at filtering than the foam one on my gti, was thinking of swapping them over but im worried it will upset the maf readings

Replaced with a new Wix. Tbf the pipercross looked fine. Seemed to drive as well as it did so happy days.
