Don't think it really matters, you don't see people complaining their iPhone are assembled in China, using Korean screens & China made batteries. Lol

Very true but the said devices have to be made to a certain standard otherwise they lose the contract....... copy car parts, a different story

It's not a job you want to do twice because the steel rotted out after 2 salty winters, so I would push the budget a bit higher to Lemforder personally  :happy2:

Key word being "standards" for their specs and QC. I have friends in China who tell me their Tesla is built better than those made in USA, which I find quite entertaining.

That doesn't surprise me. US built Teslas aren't known for their build quality

I would be happy with the metal parts, but would question the bushes.

Panel gaps are notorious bad, never mind the traditional a pound coin tesat, you could lose a iphone down some of the gaps I've seen on those!

Whichever I bought I’d repaint again anyway, but I agree about the bushes…

I was thinking of asking some questions to them but then realised there’s a fair chunk of tax to add on with the Brexit red tape. So not that cheap after all…

Any other recommendations for brands? I’ve had Lemförder stuff on an old BMW and agree it’s decent but the prices just seem to have crazy lately…

Whilst looking for bits though, I did notice someone selling a complete MK7.5 rear subframe, and it looks almost identical…

If you were going to refinish them / replace bushes anyway, you may be better using original parts.

When I rebuilt my rear axle I found my rear subframe and all the arms were severely rusted - decided it wasn't structurally safe to go back on - unfortunately this was after I had disabled the Golf!
I ended up getting entire used axle off ebay from down south in considerably better condition, that I then rebuilt.
If I had been known, I would have just got the axle, re-built it and then swapped them over in one day - rather than the 1.5 weeks the Golf was disabled for.
Old subframe felt like it was at least 40% lighter than the new one...kind of wish I weighed them both bare!

I couldn't justify the cost of re-bushing with my favourite superpro's.
Ended up trying PSB bushes for the first time, they really good value and have now been on the Golf for 22 months, no real change in ride and have without issue.
