Fault finding, please help :)
« on: April 10, 2022, 12:23:50 pm »
Had some work done on my car, inner tie rods, track rod ends and the tracking done. Now I have the yellow steering light on.

I've done some home searching. A code g85 wrong adaption is stored in the works cheap snap on machine. I can clear the code but then the light reappears after starting the car.

Also now have the abs and traction light on too.

I've checked the abs sensors on live data and all seem fine.

I've also noticed like this morning it was less eager to start. Was fine but I just noticed it wasn't uta usual self.

So I checked the battery with the diagnostic.

Static idle was 11.9. Car running 14.06.

Is it my sine chance that the steering light comes back on when every time I start the car down to a battery issue!

Get it tested if in doubt, can cause all sorts of issues if it’s on its way out.

Checked with the snap on diagnostic mate. Will check it again first thing before work.

But that's the wrong size, it's an 027 and it needs an 096.

A scan tool isn’t much help really, a battery tester is a better bet.
Do Halfords not still carry out free battery checks?

If you are after a new battery go for the Varta E44. Best spec battery I could find 77ah and 780A CCA
