£50k for that is absurd.  Most expensive +20hp remap in history.

It just seems in bad taste to push out a £50K Golf now, when all I hear on the news at the moment is people choosing between heating or eating!

Anyway, this is how a 20th Anniversary R should be done, minus the stupid yellow highlights.

+22 bhp but you also get an “Emotional Start”. That’s probably a tear trickling down your cheek when you turn the key and realise that Superchips can give you  a + 33 bhp remap for under £400

It sounds like they’ve introduced some sort of anti-lag on the turbo, although it’s not described as such: “the turbocharger has been reconfigured to run at a constant speed under partial throttle, which then makes for quicker acceleration on kickdown”. That sounds intriguing…

"Emotional Start"   FFS, cringe marketing level 10

Sounds like it needs that from what I've seen on YouTube as folk reckon the MK8 R is noticeably laggier than the MK7!  It also sounds like a good way to shorten turbo bearing life

Looks sh1t and only 22hp more than the current Golf R.  Lame effort.

It's 13 PS or 12 bhp. From 320 PS to 333 PS, or from 316 bhp to 328 bhp. So I'd think no one will really feel much difference.

It's 11 PS. From 320 PS to 333 PS. So I'd think no one will really feel much difference.

Even more of a pointless marketing exercise then.

Shame Audi won't let VW use the RS3 engine as that would have made a 20th Anniversary R worthwhile, or maybe dig out the old R32 warhorse and turbo it.

But what they've done, and trying to sell it for £50K.....what a joke.
