Creations Motorsport deadset kit
« on: July 09, 2022, 04:01:29 pm »
Has anyone fitted this to their car ? I've just fitted the front kit to mine to try and eliminate slight creaking noise I have when turning into my driveway and other rare times it does it randomly.
Anyway, it seems to have done bugger all to stop the creaking, but the steering feels better and sharper. Anyone else have similar results ?

I did the same with an ECS kit and steering sharpened but creaking remained.  it turned out the creaking was actually a knackered shock absorber / top mount. The locking kit sorted a heavier clunking noise so you may have fixed a problem but still have another!

034 are steel spacers, washers :happy2:  I suspect the tyrol ones are similar quality. Look at the creation kit and the ones on aliexpress :signLOL: :signLOL: :signLOL:

The kit seemed well made to me, fit the bolts and washers perfectly. I suspect something else is the problem as mentioned above.
Might take it to a garage and let them have a poke around I think.

I bought a steel set on eBay. Listed at £100 but he accepted an offer of £80.

TFSI MK5 MK6 GOLF A3 8P LEON VAG subframe deadset location collar kit

No idea on the quality and it will be a while before I fit. That said, the advert said that it comes with genuine bolts, which I guess would be a significant part of the cost.

I honestly wouldn't bother, I've come to the conclusion that it's still creaking a bit because the kit only uses the top hat style collars at the top of the subframe and not at the bottom where the bolt head sits, instead it's just a flat washer that fits the bolt hot head but doesn't protrude up into the subframe. Hope that makes sense ?

Sorry didn't read your post correctly, I assumed you'd bought the creations Motorsport kit.

/\ that doesn't come as a surprise.

I went with the TyrolSport ages ago before all the clone kits started flooding the market.  It shifted all klunks, klicks, klacks, Thwacks, Thuds, Bangs, farts, burps and every other noise you can think of.

Expensive, sure, but it sure as hell works

I would have bought the tyrol kit, but its out of stock, apparently a revised version of it coming soon.

I see what you mean about the Creations Motorsport kit. No, mine is not one of theirs and it does have the proper upper and lower collars.

I’ve bought replacement top mounts for my car whilst all apart.

One of the guys at AKS told me they were developing their own kit as the Tyrol one was getting really hard to obtain. That could be a good option…

Which will no doubt be just as expensive, if not more so

On a related point… I just replaced my top mounts with Febi items. All of my front end creaks appear to have disappeared.

Not fitted deadset yet!

I have Chinese alignment kit - mine are much better quality than the Creation ones, they look like one half is just a beatification washer - mine have alignment between subframe and body + between bolt and subframe = a real PITA to install, got to do a few turns of each bolt to be sure it's aligned, the H&R ARB also blocks the front bolts, very frustrating.

Fronts are hanging in there, but the rear ones that go between the body & subframe did not fair well, just got the lower aligner in place
