maybe not the correct place but read this morning of a re call to remove engine cover mk8 models apparently the cover can move back and cause fires re call is a bit vague  could mean just leaving cover off

Yep, that is the official fix. To simply remove it altogether  :grin:  What a joke. Declining standards, ever increasing prices.  Welcome to 21st century German cars.

It's happened to like, a handful of cars, but typical knee jerk anti-litigious response is to carpet bomb everyone with the same 'fix'.
