Well the GTI has hit 118k miles and still on the original clutch and flywheel.......no issues but the biting point is getting high now.
Changed the wife's Mk5 Golf clutch, bearing with fork last week (1.6 FSI with also 118k miles) as it had a really high biting point and heavy pedal, but kept the original flywheel as looked fine to me without play or much wear.......drives really nice again, with a low biting point, which made me compare it to mine.
Fast forward to mine and planning on doing the LUK clutch with slave release bearing at the weekend BUT unsure if I should change the flywheel also.
I do not drive it hard and do about 3.5k miles a year........or should I change it for peace of mind. The car is a keeper or until it dies and I then go electric.
£177 without or £456 with a new flywheel and bolts??
