Engine codes push me towards battery issues
« on: August 28, 2022, 12:24:40 am »
Hello guys,

Ive recently done an S3 CDL swap for my MK5 Golf GTI, but I've been getting some errors and noticable isssues that are related to battery issues. Firstly, my rear doors do not lock, so I've been manually locking them, rear windows do not work and the climate control does not work. Not sure if climate control is an issue but I'll have to test that with another module as I have upgraded to the MK6 climate control. Anyways, here are my codes.

Brakes
01423 - lateral acceleration sensor

Engine

P1603 - ctrl. Module faulty
P2016 - intake manifold runner position sensor/circuit
P3193 - intake manifold runner control open stop out side valid range
P1602 - power supply terminal 30: voltage too low

Steering column electronics
00883 - ignition/starter switch terminal s

01314 - engine control module

These codes I have never encountered even before the engine swap but personally I can only think to be a power issue. Intake manifold runner is due to a runner flap delete. So I ruled that one out completely, but even the engine management light isn't on, but throwing out codes regarding these. The main lights on the dash are EPC, TPMS, and ESC. Tried switching off TMPS by resetting it but no luck. I'm going to try and get a new battery tomorrow and see how it fairs.
Thanks for reading :)
