Curious about this, I completely disconnected mine after the top broke off it whilst I was doing my timing belt, drove around for about 50 miles before I got some epoxy resin to repair it and never got any lights on or noticed any difference in driving performance etc ?

I've got no effect on performance or running, just the light. Odd you got no warning light though!

Off topic but when I go pick up the part I was thinking I'll get my service bits too - oil, filters, plugs. Is the dealer a stupid place to get plugs and filters from (price wise) or is there not much in it?

Picked up the new canister today, and my EML has turned off

I'm assuming that it will probably come back in anyway soon

It won't unless the evap solenoid valve fails as well.

@pudding - sorry I'm not sure I understand. I'm assuming that the limit for the eml is just about reached so it's teetering on triggering EML and not? Or has it just got bored of telling me there's a problem?

Sorry, I meant the N80 valve can also trigger the evap EML.  There's basically 4 things to do with the tank venting that can trigger it...... 1) depleted charcoal pellets, 2) busted N80 valve, 3) leaking petrol cap and 4) a split hose or leak anywhere in the evap circuit.

If the EML has gone out, clearly it was the charcoal all got burned on the BBQ and you're good to go  :happy2:

Nah, wait until it lets go.  It's not an expensive or difficult job when it does.

Canister and breather pipe was £127.  Literally a 2 minute job to fit.
