Retrofitting an OEM Bluetooth module to Polo 6R
« on: October 09, 2022, 03:38:32 pm »
Hi there!
I'm new to this forum and I would like to ask for some help about retrofitting an OEM vw bluetooth module to my Polo V.

(Sorry in advance for the bad english, I'm from France).

So I recently bought a RCD510 radio to replace my RCD310, everything worked perfectly, just had to use VCDS to allow MFSW to work.

Then I decided to buy an OEM Bluetooth module (code 1k8035730d, 9w2) and an adaptor wiring harness to have the ability to stream music, see the song's name and skip tracks with the MFSW.

The problem here is when I try to plug everything in, it doesn't work. Like the radio still works perfectly with the added harness, but VCDS doesn't want to communicate with the module. I activated the "77 - Telephone" setting in the CAN GATEWAY option, but when VCDS tries to talk with the module, I'm just left with the error "No Response from Controller!", like if the module wasn't even there.

I tried to activate "bluetooth audio source" in the RCD510, but as I thought it didn't work. No bluetooth signal when I turn the key in the ignition, nothing.

So that's why I post this here, I thought some of you could know if some specificity exists with this combination. I think this particular module should work, as I saw it advertised on ebay with the mention of the Polo 5 on the compatibility list (and I also saw that this module was released after my car was produced on the "telephone retrofitting" page of VCDS's forum : http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Telephone_Retrofitting).

Thanks in advance for your messages :)

Best

PS: My car isn't equipped with an MFD, if it can help...
