Steering Alignment
« on: November 09, 2022, 09:25:49 pm »
Hi guys

Had a few bits done this week, rear trailing arms, bushes, rear discs and pads. Since then steering wheel is slightly off centre always used to be spot on now sits slightly to the left. Also car handling doesn’t feel quite right not sure if it’s because I got used to it before and now it’s meant to be like this
There was a readout of what got done but I don’t know what I’m looking at if anyone could advise if all looks ok or is well off and needs doing again. The one thing I did notice it says GOLF VI pretty sure that should say GOLF V but not 100% sure  :signLOL: Cheers all

Looks like the toe on the rear is off to me, needs adjusting.

You have rear wheel steering with that alignment! Both sides have a high level of toe out (aka negative toe) and it is also significantly uneven across the ‘axle’. The factory data is the green range in the charts and, whilst you can choose to go outside that eg deliberate toe out / more camber, it does help to keep both sides matched. Clearly the garage who fitted the parts didn’t realign the car afterwards and expect you to get it done. Golf V and Vi both share the same chassis.
