Size for exhaust sleeve adaptor from standard cat back to Milltek 2.75"

Hi,

I have a used Milltek 2.75" cat back exhaust I bought and need an adaptor to connect to the standard pipe from the cat. I know the standard exhaust is 2.5" and I know the outer diameter of the adaptor at the Milltek end will be 70mm but what size will the inner diameter be on the standard end of the adaptor? i.e. what is the size of the outer diameter of the standard pipe.

Looking at old posts, some say 60mm, 63mm and 65mm.

Milltek want £45 which is just crazy as a custom made can be purchased for £10.

It won't 63.5mm (2.5") because.....German....therefore metric.

Pretty sure it's 65mm.

You could, you know, just go and measure it on your actual car instead of taking a gamble on a 33% chance of getting the right answer.

But I'd have to disconnect it and get all dirty, I was planning on getting all the bits and leaving it with my mechanic.

Or I could measure the circumference and use some geometry to work out the radius, allow for the thickness of the steel. Hmmmm.....

Also discovered the Milltek clamps are 73mm and 63mm so it must be 60mm... surely.

Are you talking about the 2 pipes (downpipe and catback) joined together with the OEM clamp?  That is measurable without dismantling it as you asked for the OD, which seems to be 65mm, so possibly the 60mm ID coupler is required then.

Yes, that's the one. That clamp will be replaced by an adaptor to connect with the larger bore Miltek, I've ordered 70mm outer diameter by 60mm inner diameter. Will get it fitted in a few weeks and revert back. Cheers

Just to confirm, this was the correct size.

So clamps from here (2 x 73mm, 1 x 63mm) higher grade stainless steel than genuine Milltek
