The dreaded P0016 code has been putting my check engine light on as of late, fault frequency count is at 13 now.
Specifically -002 - Incorrect Correlation - Intermittent.
My issue is I have not had any actual symptoms. Starts quickly, pulls great
I did cambelt kit just over 1 year ago (about 5k miles). I also did the cam chain kit at 110k pre-emptively, now at 159k. Stage 1 map for the last 70k or so. Oil and filter change just 2 months ago, oil level just checked and fine.
On group 91 VCDS shows 1 - 1.5 degree deviation between cam spec and actual at any time, at about 24.0 degrees, which is expected as my engine is AXX
Group 93 shows Phase position bank 1 at
-20 degrees This should obviously be between 0 and 4 degrees or so, so something is seriously wrong here. How am I not having serious issues?
I have put a metal pole against the cam chain cover and up to my ear when idling, I can't hear any rattling etc, chain sounds to be moving quietly.
There are no other fault codes, no misfires etc.
Really not sure how to approach this as all work is up to date.
Any ideas?
