Hi all, I hope everyone's having a great holiday.
Recently my mk5 GTI with TFSI AXX engine developed a weird noise that sounds like a chain from a bicycle, noticeably loud during cold start until it warms up. The noise is coming from the front right of the engine close to N80 purge valve and the small timing chain.
The engine started to misfire occasionally as well, scanned for codes and I am getting P0441 EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow. Tested the EVAP with block 70 from vcds and the test was okay.
VideoI replaced the timing chain, tensioner, and the N80 purge valve less than 20,000 kms ago.
I suspect another failing purge valve but I'm not sure if it's supposed to make that sound.
The car doesn't make the dreadful diesel-like noise after replacing the timing chain and tensioner so I doubt it is what causes it.
Has anyone experienced this noise? Thanks in advance!
