Loss of power gradually over time with a twist
« on: February 09, 2023, 05:27:05 pm »
Hello looking for advice,
The gti's remapped to Stage 2+ with all supporting mods 85k,
Was brilliant for about 2 months 280ish bhp
Then the power has started dropping off over time at first I thought it was just me getting used to it but I had a confirmed the other day on a graph run, actual value is slightly under maybe  .2  .3 bar less then it's asking for and since then it's dropped off more,

Some unusual things to note,
This morning the exhaust which is a 100 cell race cat full bcs turbo back (very loud) got quieter never heard of that before how an exhaust just gets quite rather then louder,
Usually when the traction control steps in there is a spark cut and a nice fart, which it has stopped doing almost entirely
Fuel mileage is out the bloody window having to fill up twice at often maybe more

Things I have changed very recently; trying to chase this fault,
Plugs
Coilpacks
N80
Fuel filter
Cam follower, checked for leaks on hpfp non
Serviced it
Diverter valve
Pcv gasket and 2 plastic pcv pipes
Rocker cover gasket

Starting to think the turbos or associated parts might be fluffed which is honestly not something I wanna deal with (expensive)

Would be grateful if anyone else could mention things I might have missed or could try and if all else fails I will just have to bit the bullet, but hopefully not 😅 let me know what you guys think

Boost leaks or a knackered turbo are the most likely causes.
